Safety and Health Division  Organizes the annual Loss Prevention and Process Safety Symposium and publishes the quarterly Process Safety Progress magazine, the Health and Safety News and the Ammonia Proceedings. The website provides numerous links to other relevant sites.

South Texas Section of AIChE  AIChE’s largest section. located in Houston, Texas, provides a monthly free Process Safety Workshop.

Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS)  Probably the largest one-stop source for Process Safety information and tools.

Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center  Part of Texas A&M University, the Institute organizes an annual symposium on Process Safety, offers courses and publications. Its web site has links to other useful sites.

U.S. Chemical Safety Board  The CSB is an independent federal agency charged with investigating industrial chemical accidents. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the agency’s board members are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. The CSB conducts root cause investigations of chemical accidents at fixed industrial facilities.

DHS Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS)  The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has released an interim final rule that imposes comprehensive federal security regulations for high-risk chemical facilities. This rule establishes risk-based performance standards for the security of our nation’s chemical facilities. It requires covered chemical facilities to prepare Security Vulnerability Assessments (SVAs).

Design Center for Relief Systems (DIERS)  Provides software and continuing education for the design of relief systems.

EPA’s Risk Management Plan (RMP)  The part of EPA dealing with the Risk Management Program (RMP). The regulation, as well as some tools, are available through this site.
